What is Care & Counsel for Combat Trauma?

Care & Counsel for Combat Trauma (C3T) is a self-paced instructional course co-produced by Military Ministry and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

  • C3T will give you a greater understanding of the complexities surrounding combat trauma and broaden professional and ministry skills.
  • C3T is suitable for home study and includes 30 one-hour video presentations by experts in counseling, psychology, medicine, and military life.
  • C3T includes 30 video presentations plus a 280+-page workbook, post-test, and supplemental materials to help you prepare for ministry to active and veteran military in your church or community.
  • Upon successful submittal of the C3T course and post-test, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Military Ministry.
  • The C3T Certificate of Completion qualifies you for 30 continuing education credits from AACC. There may be additional coursework and qualifications required for further Certifications and Credentials offered by AACC.

Can I Get Credit for Taking This Course?

Care & Counsel for Combat Trauma meets requirements for continuing education under the guidelines approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). You can apply to the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) for up to 30 credits (CEs) when you satisfactorily complete this course. These CEs may be applied against the requirements for further AACC Certificates and Credentials.

How Do I Use the Credits I Get When I Successfully Complete C3T?

Follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Purchase a C3T Workbook and Post-Test.
  • Step 2: Complete all five C3T Units and take the Examination at the end of each Unit.  (These are open-book, open-video exams with no time limits. Each Unit Examination has 60 questions.)
  • Step 3: Mail completed Unit Examinations (five total) to Military Ministry for scoring. Exams may be mailed individually over time or all together in one batch.
  • Step 4: Receive Notification Letter from Military Ministry within 3-4 weeks of exam submission. When you have completed the entire course with passing grades on each exam of 70% or more, you will receive a C3T Certificate of Completion from Military Ministry.
  • Step 5: Contact AACC to use accumulated CEs toward certifications or credentials. Contact AACC or visit www.careandcounsel.info for more information. You should retain your C3T Certificate of Completion as validation of your earned CEs.
